Osteonecrosis can be an extremely debilitating problem, affecting up to 20,00 people a year. The etiology is often related to chronic steroid use for managment of systemic diseases, a history of alcoholism, or a significant joint trauma. The Osteonecrosis Program of The Denver Clinic for Extremities at Risk takes a unique approach to the management of this condition. Because of our team of orthopedic and plastic surgeons, we are able to provide surgical options for management of osteonecrosis of the hip, knee, ankle, shoulder, and elbow. Our multidisciplinary team of physicians assess the stage of osteonecrosis that a person presents with, as well as considers the person's activity level and lifestyle in determining the appropriate surgical treatment. We present surgical options that best address the patients's global needs. Our Team
